Make a Bonsai: Azalea Edition with Bring Your Own Bonsai Option

This is a hands-on course where you can make your first bonsai out of a tree that you bring or you can add one to your ticket and we will supply it! Students will learn about Azalea bonsai, see technique demonstrated and do June styling work to enhance their tree.

About the event
This workshop is offered in two formats. One where you purchase a ticket that includes a tree, or another where you purchase just a ticket and you bring your own tree to work on. By having a "bring your own tree" option, we hope to give people a chance to learn using trees already have in their collection. The azalea's sold with this workshop have thicker trunks than normal and are in two litre bonsai pots.
The work we will do will focus on pruning and wiring the trees to improve their appearance. It's ok if your tree is not in a bonsai pot yet. Repotting will be offered in a separate repotting event in the spring.
